“Behzad is not only the best real estate professional I have ever worked with, he is one of the best business relationships I have had the pleasure of building. He is extremely knowledgeable in regards to geography/location, price/value, and the entire process of buying or selling a home. However, it is Behzad’s ability to prove he is your asset and partner in the process that separates him from the rest…” - JTebben

It seems every home here as a great view of either the Bay, the Golden Gate Bridge, the San Francisco skyline, or the stunning natural beauty that surrounds Sausalito. Like elsewhere in Marin, Sausalito real estate is always in demand.
Like much of Marin County, Sausalito owes much of its early settlement to the English-born, Mexican citizen, William Richardson. Sausalito for much of its early history was in the strange position of being both San Francisco’s nearest neighbor, only two miles away at one point, but also isolated. It took almost a half hour to sail across the strait, and a wagon had to travel almost 100 miles around the bay, even though you could see Sausalito from downtown San Francisco streets. As a result, most of the early residents of the small Sausalito community were either commercial fisherman or young, wealthy yachting enthusiasts. Today, the influence of the sea can still be felt as evidenced by the Sausalito, CA real estate that faces the Bay.
Sausalito was incorporated in 1893 and was often used a destination for smugglers, especially rum runners during Prohibition. Once the Golden Gate Bridge opened, Sausalito became more connected with San Francisco but retained its small size and unique outlook. Today, Sausalito is a destination for sightseers and has regular ferry service to some of the areas favorite attractions, including Angel Island and water tours of the Golden Gate Bridge.
About 7,000 now people call Sausalito home. The median income here is $109,019. The beautiful town attracts a motley assortment of celebrities, with residents having included Jerry Garcia, William Randolph Hearst, Otis Reading, and Robin Williams at one point or another. The view and the community continue to inspire and attract artists and writers eager to soak up everything that makes Sausalito so special.
There are two public schools in Sausalito, both of which serve students from kindergarten to eighth grade. Bayside/MLK Academy and Willow Creek Academy both have excellent academic reputations.
